So excited to be back to West Hill this week after seven, count them, seven week of study and vacation. The focus of my time away has been the writing of my second book, this one on the topic of prayer. It has been a rich time and I've been influenced by so many great minds -- some having written centuries ago, some just a few weeks back.

Easter at West Hill

Traditionally, the week leading up to Easter has focused on the stories of Jesus' last week including his crucifixion and resurrection. Whole segments of the Christian community have taken those stories literally and interpreted them to mean that Jesus' life was offered up as a sacrifice to cleanse us from our sins.

But large segments of the Christian community have interpreted the stories metaphorically, understanding the resurrection as symbolic of our own need [...]
