September 24th 2023: Conspiracy of Goodness
There have been silent movements of goodness throughout history that have made a significant impact on humanity. Could we be on the verge of exposing the greatest one yet, and the only thing stopping it is what’s under your fingers? Dr. Lynda Ulrich is a dentist turned social innovator. She’s the founder of Ever Widening Circles (EWC), a positive media company on a mission to prove the world is still an amazing place. Through the constant doom and gloom spread across our media, Dr. Lynda points to the enormous wave of progress and goodness well underway but now hidden by the noise of our digital lives. Through her work, she shows a world of less fear and more joy, sharing and recognizing countless acts of good happening all around us through what she calls the “Conspiracy of Goodness”. Dr. Lynda believes a new, better era is on its way.
The words of Desmond Tutu: “Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”
The words of William Shakespeare, from his play The Merchant of Venice: “How far that little candle throws his beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world.”
The words of Aesop, from his fable The Lion and the Mouse: “…no act of kindness however small is ever wasted.”
The words of Mahatma Gandhi: “When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it – always.”
The words of Jane Goodall: “It is these undeniable qualities of human love and compassion and self-sacrifice that give me hope for the future. We are, indeed, often cruel and evil. Nobody can deny this. We gang up on each one another, we torture each other, with words as well as deeds, we fight, we kill. But we are also capable of the most noble, generous, and heroic behavior.”
