Read MoreOur next movie in our Inspired by Hollywood series is Don’t Look UP, created by Adam McKay.
This award-nominated film is a dark, satirical, comedy about the end of the world. The movie examines our willingness to live in denial in the face of an existential threat. We will look closely at the question, “What is Truth”?
Members of our Outreach Committee are inviting you to join us in lending a helping hand to these youth. Their Councillor has told us that they like to provide each student coming into the program with a bag of useful items.
We have set up a dropbox in the lobby for goods brought to the Sunday gathering.
The third movie we will look at in our Inspired by Hollywood service series is BELFAST, created by Kenneth Branagh. The movie doesn't get into the reasons behind the Troubles but the specter of violence is always looming. Of course, the Troubles were connected to a complicated history in Ireland and the UK. If we are going to contemplate the nature of violence, it is helpful to dig into our history. This Sunday we will travel deep into our own history.

Read MoreMeet King Julez, “Drag, as an art form, is diverse and takes many forms. I first began doing Queen (feminine) drag because that is what people knew, then I morphed into doing King drag (masculine). Once I was engaged with masculine drag, I ended up coming to terms with my transition. Only by acting out presentation and mannerisms in an exaggerated way did I come to know what made me comfortable. Drag is how I found myself and how I connect to my true and authentic being that exists within my soul.”
